Sunday Services

sunday slide - feature

The church family meet every Sunday at 10.30am and 6.30pm. It helps to arrive 5-10 minutes early to have a chance to say 'hello' before the service starts.

We meet at:
Roundhay Parochial Hall
Fitzroy Drive
Leeds
LS8 4AB

We usually share in communion on the 2nd Sunday morning and 4th Sunday evening of the month. We use gluten-free bread and grape juice.

What to expect:

We gather together to praise and worship God, encourage one another in our faith and hear what God has to say to us from His word, the Bible. Our Sunday services typically last around 80 minutes and include a mix of modern and traditional songs, a fun spot aimed at the children (am), a time of prayer, a Bible reading and Bible talk. Sunday evenings are usually less formal as we meet around tables. During the summer we meet in the smaller room opposite the main hall and enjoy a series of talks from different psalms.

Where can I park? There is free parking available in the Parochial Hall car park (next to the building) and on the surrounding roads. There is also a public car park at the Oakwood Clock.

What about accessibility? There is wheelchair access via the side of the hall, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. There is a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities in the entrance foyer.

Do I need to bring anything? No, just yourselves! We have Bibles available to use during the service if you would like to, or you could bring your own.

What if I'm running late? If you arrive late, it's not a problem at all. We meet in the main hall which is on the right as you come in. For the morning service there is a child safety gate in place as you come through into the main foyer.

Is there a dress code? No! Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Will I have to join in? You are free to simply observe or participate where you feel comfortable. Whatever your background, views or experience of the Christian faith and church, you are very welcome.

What if my children are noisy? We love children and don’t mind noise. If you wish to feed your young child during the service we have no problem with that, but if you prefer some privacy there is the crèche room immediately opposite the main hall entrance door.

What about children's and youth groups? See our page on Children and Young People for more information about the groups which meet during our Sunday morning service.

What happens during the service? The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. We have a time of sung worship with prayer and a Bible reading. We have a 'fun spot' and children's song before the children and young people leave to go to their groups. One of the leaders will give a Bible-based talk that we can apply to our everyday life. We finish with a final worship song. Evening services are usually in a café style around tables.

What happens after the service? After the morning service, we serve tea, coffee and biscuits. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. There is an activity table for the children, and the teens congregate in the room opposite the hall.

On a Sunday evening we often enjoy refreshments before the service starts.

Do come and join us - we look forward to welcoming you at REC!
